Planning application accepted

Berkeley Homes (BH) made an application to build 4 blocks of flats, including one 6 storeys high, with a total of 85 flats. This compared to the approved scheme for 16 houses. This application was met with a massive number of objections from local residents, as well as from local community groups including RAWW, LUNG, NWWRA, and the Wimbledon Society.

This was viewed as a very high density development with a significant impact on traffic congestion schools, doctors' surgeries, pollution, and transport, with inadequate access provisions for delivery vehicles, effects on flood water and other shortcomings.
The Council's planning officers agreed the application was too intensive and was not approved.

In early September 2017 BH submitted a revised application with the number of flats reduced from 85 to 77 in seven smaller blocks. This application has been approved.
